There are some upcoming games I’m either trying to buy or  buy in the future. However, my Xbox one is outdated. Should I upgrade to a series s/x? Or should I just switch consoles all together?

I recommend Series X, or outright switching to computer for better performance and so you can have a device to do other things then only game yk

If you can get a PC I'd go that route.  I use my xbox controller on the PC and I think everything available on xbox can be had on PC.
