I am interested in Star Citizen, but it's still in early alpha allegedly. I heard of it several years ago, and have followed it from a distance for a while, it seems really fun, but are the devs really interested in finishing the game or is this just a grift/scam?

The people who do play it are mostly super die hards at this point, but there is a real game that you can play. Game has crowdsourced over $700 million and has been in alpha since it's release in 2012. Devs said original release date was 2014. All that combined should give you a good picture of if its ever coming out lmao
