What if game torrents and torrents in general hadn't become as prevalent as they are now and in the past?
Would you still have played the games you experienced in your childhood?
I know I wouldn't have because triple AAA games weren't usually sold in my area and we wouldn't be able to buy them either if they were. I'd probably also be worse at playing games in general had I not torrented hundreds of them, so yeah, I'm pretty thankful for the creation of torrents in general. I still torrent of course, but if I like the game, I'll buy it, now that I have money to spend.
