We are trying to identify a cause and deploy a fix as soon as possible.
While it doesn't look like a DDOS in the traditional sense, it certainly feels like one.

It did seem like a ddos attack ?
Perhaps Admin could make a Telegram channel to keep members updated on the forums server status in the eventuality it happens again
