Will AI Replace Traditional Programming?
#1
Hey everyone,

With the rapid growth of AI tools like GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, and other code-generating models, we’re starting to see a real shift in how software is developed. Tasks that used to take hours—debugging, writing boilerplate, even designing algorithms—can now be done in minutes with AI assistance. It’s clear that the role of the programmer is changing.

I think AI won’t replace programmers entirely, but it will change what it means to be one. Instead of writing every line of code manually, we’ll be more like architects or curators—guiding AI, validating outputs, and focusing on higher-level design and problem-solving.

But this brings up a bigger question I’d love to hear your thoughts on:

Do you think AI will make programming more accessible to non-programmers—or will it widen the gap between those who understand code deeply and those who just prompt the AI?
